Each year our honeybees produce variable amounts of honey. If we have a surplus during the season after filling shares for our 2021 CSA Members, we will be able to bottle more and have it available for purchase. Raw unfiltered honey has many beneficial properties because it contains all of the pollen, enzymes, and other micronutrients. Traditional processing methods of honey found in the grocery store usually destroy these beneficial properties due to high heat and filtration. Since our honey is left in a natural state and not changed chemically by processing methods, it will crystalize more quickly. The amazing thing is, honey never spoils (preserved jars were even found in Egyptian tombs)! You can submerge your jar into hot water to gently melt the crystalized honey back to its liquid state.

A honey and seasonal flower subscription, or Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), works similar to a vegetable CSA. Members purchase their subscriptions before the growing season starts. They are investing in the time and materials required for keeping honeybees and growing premium flowers organically. In return, Members receive raw unfiltered wildflower honey AND a weekly bouquet of hand-tied flowers grown locally right here in Rochester, NY.

For the 2021 growing season, we are offering a limited number of two share options featuring dahlias; one including a jar of raw unfiltered honey and one without. There are only a limited number of shares available, so grab yours today!

Dahlias are some of the most unique and gorgeous flowers we grow in our gardens. Each week you can expect a hand-tied bouquet filled with dahlias and other seasonal gems. No two bouquets will look the same as we create based on what is blooming in the garden.

The flowers are harvested the SAME DAY you pick up your bouquet (you can't get much fresher than that)! Everything in our bouquets are grown here in our gardens using organic methods, without toxins and chemicals. We love Mother Earth and want to keep Her, our honeybees, and our toddler gardener, Luna, safe and healthy.

We typically harvest our honey near the end of summer or early fall. Once "the girls" (yep, female honeybees do all the heavy lifting and work) have filled the frames we will know when we can harvest and bottle.

We will notify you of the exact start time in advance. Mother Earth runs the show here and we have to wait until She is ready for the blooms to start.
